Hi Everyone,
I am going to ask you for a favour if you can spare 5 or 10 minutes of your time.
I am currently working on a study on sport participation and sport sustainability in the adult population in Cork.
This study is part of my thesis for a Master in Public Health.
I am hoping that getting some information on the factors facilitating or getting in the way of sustained practice of sport and physical activity in adults could help planning for future inititatives to promote exercise and physical activity for all.
I would be very grateful if you could complete the online questionnaire by clicking on the link below:

Saturday training

This Saturday 2nd June classes will only run from 9 to 10 am. If this time does not suit you please choose one of the following days next week instead:

Kelle’s class:

  • Tuesday at 6 or 7;
  • Wednesday at 4 or 5;
  • Thursday at 6 or 7;
  • Friday at 4.

Eimear’s class:

  • Tuesday at 7;
  • Wednesday at 5;
  • Thursday at 7.

Volunteers needed for World Open!

Dear All,

The time is now approaching quickly… We need to make sure that our big event runs smoothly and that it will be a memorable experience for all involved.

Once again, we are asking for your help on the days of the competition (5th-8th July): we would need volunteers to help at reception area, to stand at entrances, gallery, etc. and directing skaters and audience to their designated area, to help with teas & coffee, etc.

Depending on number of people available we would ask you to help for a minimum of 3-4 hours. Volunteers will get a half price meal voucher, free t-shirt and a free ticket for the event on a day of their choice.

Please note that we cannot garantee that you will be able to see the competition while you are helping, but you are free to watch before and after if you wish.

Please let me know if you think that you may be able to help.

CFSA jackets, pants and dresses to order

Mary is now taking orders for club dresses, jackets and pants. There are order forms available in the hall, please give your form to your coach with a €20 deposit for each item.

Prices are: dresses €75, jackets €75 and pants €50. Sample dresses are available in the hall to try on for size.

Please have your order in by 26th May to be guaranteed to get your items in time for the World Open.

Summer training

Dear All,

Some dates for your diary:

CFSA will close for two weeks after the World Open, from 9th to 21st July.

Training will resume on Sunday 22nd July.

Summer training camps will take place on the following dates:

  • Week 1: 23rd – 27th July, 10am to 1pm;
  • Week 2: 20th – 24th August, 10am to 1pm.

Skates order

Dear All,

I will send an order for skates (boots and frames) over the next couple of weeks, so please let me know asap if you need a new pair: boot make (Risport or Edea), size (the number under the sole of the boot, not your shoe size), and the type of frame you want (high or intermediate level – please check Picskates website for specifications: Professional frame is for Axel and double jumps, Performer is good for single and Axel jumps).

Raffle tickets

Just a reminder to please bring back all the raffle tickets by this Saturday (day of the raffle) regardless of whether you have sold them or not.

If you wish to sell / buy more tickets please just ask; we have some great prizes (on display in the dance studio) 🙂

All profits will go towards funding the World Open and European Championship in July, so we would be grateful for your support.

CFSA Birthday Party

I take the opportunity to thank all of you for your help and support last Saturday at out Club Competition in Little Island; it is thanks to you that it was a very successful event for all involved.

We are now going to celebrate our club’s 7th birthday! You are all invited to join us on Saturday 7th April at 2.00pm (at the hall) for a slice of cake and some games. Hope to see you all there 🙂
